The Alpha Club is the only student organization at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University that is dedicated exclusively to investment management. We serve the needs of students who are interested in pursuing careers in the field of asset management, as well as others in the Tepper community who are simply interested in becoming better informed investors.

We prepare students for careers in fields such as equity research, credit research, hedge funds, and portfolio management. Part of this involves competing in investment competitions against other top MBA programs, and we prepare and send teams to those. There is an opportunity for real life investment management experience through the Tepper Opportunity Fund that is managed through the club. We also meet regularly to discuss investments and market topics, relevant regardless of if you plan on going into asset management as a career. To supplement this we also hold personal finance events and information sessions to make sure all students are prepared to manage their own assets throughout life.

Former Alpha Club members have gone on to successful careers at hedge funds firms, mutual fund houses, private wealth management shops, and other institutional asset management organizations. Regardless of what you plan to go into we think there is a lot to be gained by membership. We have a tight knit alumni network that is constantly looking to advance opportunities to members, during their time at Tepper and beyond.
