Prof.Joseph Xu, who has done lots of research in the field of retail operations, e-commerce platforms, and omnichannels, will speak about the most recent trends and challenges facing this rapidly changing industry. During his years studying at Wharton and teaching at Tepper, he focused on understanding consumer behavior in e-commerce settings and exploring the impact of these behaviors on the daily operations of firms.

Topics will include:
- E-commerce from the customer journey perspective: what are the necessary product design requirements?
- E-commerce from the business perspective: how to make money efficiently and what are the challenges?
- Recent developments in e-commerce #1: Online-to-offline platform models (Groupon, MoviePass etc.).
- Recent developments in e-commerce #2: Financial value of data and rights of data subjects.
