[DA] Introduction to Tableau Prep

Have you ever seen a clean data set and wondered, "how do I get my data to look this nice?"

In this workshop, Professor Bob Monroe will cover an introduction to Tableau Prep.  This will be an introduction to data wrangling, and provide you with the basic skills necessary to do your own data wrangling, or act as a jumping-off point for learning more advanced topics later.

In preparation for the workshop, we ask that you have Tableau (both Desktop and Prep) installed on your computers beforehand. 

If you need instructions for installing Tableau, here are the recommended steps for a free one-year student version:

1. https://www.tableau.com/academic/students
2. Click the “Get Tableau for Free” button
3. Fill out the pop-up form, and submit
4. You should receive an email confirming your submission
5. You will receive an email with a product key (usually within a few minutes, but could be within a few days).  In the meantime, your current copy of Tableau Desktop can still be used for up to 14 days for free without that product key.
