One of the core models M&A professionals have to build when analyzing an acquisition is the accretion/dilution model. The underlying purpose of this analysis is to assess the impact of an acquisition on the acquirer’s expected future earnings per share (EPS). It is also a frequent subject of investment banking interview questions. In this training session, we review the M&A landscape, describe the buy-side and sell-side process and introduce acquisition accounting, purchase price allocation and the accretion dilution analysis. This training serves as the introduction to the M&A Modeling (Accretion/Dilution) online course (access through your Wall Street Prep account).
