Jack Guda, President

Jack was born and raised in Downingtown, PA before pursuing his B.S. in Computer Science from Penn State University. After graduation, he was commissioned as an Officer in the Marine Corps where he went on to become a communications officer for the next four years. He served as a Cyber Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer with 9th Communication Battalion in Camp Pendleton, CA and as a strategic planner with Joint Operations Command - Iraq. Jack left the Marine Corps to pursue a career in the technology industry, and he spent a year as a product manager at a technology startup before coming to Tepper. At Tepper, Jack is pursuing the Technology Strategy and Product Management track and plans to return to the tech industry as a product manager. David Chang, Executive Vice President

David commissioned in the Army as an infantry officer after graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Military Institute. He served with the 3rd Combined Arms Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA as an infantry platoon leader, distribution platoon leader, and scout platoon leader. At Tepper, David is pursuing concentrations in business technologies, strategy, and entrepreneurship with the focus to break into the tech industry as a product manager. John Briegel, VP of Finance

John was born in New Jersey and raised in Italy prior to attending high school in Central Pennsylvania. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army as an infantry officer after graduating from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Business Administration. While serving, John was a Platoon Leader, an Executive Officer, and a Battalion S2. John is pursuing a career in Investment Banking and is concentrating on Finance and Accounting at Tepper. In his free time, he enjoys movies, writing, bartending with David at the CMU gym, and only the finest Yuengling on draft. Dev Chandra, VP of Part-Time Operations

Dev was born and raised in central PA before pursuing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an Officer in the US Navy where he went on to become a nuclear engineer and project manager, leading major ship construction projects. For the past few years, Dev works as a Congressional Liaison helping his Admiral get funding for nuclear-powered warships. Over the past year, Dev started his company called “The Process Hacker” to help people unleash their productivity and make more of a positive impact in their world. At Tepper, Dev is concentrating his education on Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Organizational Behavior. Dev enjoys blogging, traveling abroad, getting outside, and soccer. Chris Szymanski, VP of Part-Time Operations

Chris was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and has lived in Oakland, ME; Houston, TX; Charleston, SC; Kaneohe, HI; and now resides in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and 2 dogs. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and commissioned as a Submarine Officer in the US Navy. He served on the USS Louisville (SSN 724), a fast attack submarine, stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI where he conducted 3 deployments. Some of his jobs while serving on the submarine include: Quality Assurance Officer, Operational Safety Officer, Operations Officer, and Communications Officer. He continues to serve on active duty. At Tepper, Chris is concentrating on Operations Management and Project Management roles in Technology or Energy. Chris enjoys traveling, hiking, brewing beer, and playing with his 2 dogs. Erik Steeb, VP of Professional Development

Erik joined the Marine Corps as a supply officer after graduating with a B.A. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles. He served with 8th Communications Battalion and 2nd Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. At Tepper, Erik is pursuing the Energy Business Track and recruiting in the renewable energy industry. His interests include running, playing with his dog, and cooking. Scott Mentzer, VP of Admissions

Scott, originally from Youngstown Ohio, graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2012 earning a B.S. in Psychology. His Army career began in 2012 where he served as an Engineer Officer in mostly Heavy Infantry and Mechanized units over his eight year career and still serves in the U.S. Army Reserves. At Tepper, Scott is pursuing the Management of Innovation and Product Development Track and concentrations in Marketing, Strategy and Finance. David Farren, VP of Admissions

David grew up in sunny Southern California before pursuing a B.S. in International Relations at the United States Military Academy graduating in 2012. Upon graduation, joined the Army as an armor officer and trained and led Abrams & Bradley units. David left active duty in 2017 and joined Walmart Inc. as a supply chain manager. At Tepper, David is focusing on strategy roles with concentrations on Business Strategy, Operations Management, and Finance. James Maffey, VP of Social / Alumni Relations

James was born and raised in central PA before pursuing his B.S. in Economics and Public Policy at Duke University. Upon graduation, he commissioned as a Signal Officer through Army ROTC. He served as an Operations Officer for Army Cyber, Platoon Leader/XO in 112th Signal Battalion (SO)(A), and Battalion S6 in 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (SO)(A). At Tepper, he is the president of the Tepper Outdoor Adventure Club and is focusing on Product Management roles in tech.
